Some things are worth keeping but not worth showing: letters, tickets, a first drawing. This box is made for exactly those, with a lid that drops over the sides rather than sitting inside them, so dust stays out and the box can be stacked.
A lid that overlaps
An inset lid is easier to weave but lets dust settle into the gap. This lid is woven slightly larger than the body so it covers the top edge completely. We add a small woven tab at the front so it lifts easily without a handle.

Line it with a square of tissue if you are storing anything delicate, since the natural leaf has a slightly rough inside face.
